Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) remains a persistent challenge for oil, gas, and petrochemical facilities, particularly in coastal environments and at sites handling cryogenic liquids, where fluctuating temperatures and trapped moisture can accelerate corrosion.

One such facility – a large natural gas liquids (NGL)fractionation plant operated by Saudi Aramco, and located near the coast – faces these conditions across its extensive network of pipelines, tanks, and chillers.
