CorrosionRADAR Expands CUI Sensor Portfolio with New CR:SR Solution
Cambridge, United Kingdom – July 28, 2026 – CorrosionRADAR has today announced the launch of its CR:SR sensor solution. This...
At EUROCORR, Ali Oskuie, technical expert of CorrosionRADAR, presented on ‘Estimating the rate of corrosion under insulation (CUI) with a remote monitoring system’. This presentation was based on CorrosionRADAR’s CUI monitoring solution which uses electromagnetic guided radar (EMGR) technology.
CorrosionRADAR’s CUI Monitoring Solution
This solution offered accuracy in monitoring corrosivity rates remotely. The system has the ability to provide continuous monitoring, enabling data driven decision-making for effective asset integrity management.
Comparing Corrosive Environments
The study presented at EUROCORR compared two different corrosive environments with varying corrosivity potentials, using a bespoke CUI test rig. By analysing data collected from the sensors and traditional corrosion coupons, the study showcased a strong correlation, ensuring the reliability of the results. Correlating the sensor data with conventional measurement techniques opens the door to precise corrosivity rate estimation for CUI.
Practical Applications and Impact
The significance of the study’s results for CUI monitoring in real-world applications is significant. With the remote monitoring system, asset owners and managers can make informed decisions, optimise inspection intervals, and significantly reduce maintenance costs. This solution offers a proactive approach to corrosion management, ensuring the long-term integrity and safety of critical infrastructure.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, the collaboration between CorrosionRADAR and Cranfield University, through the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project, has resulted in findings that are significant within remote monitoring. EUROCORR 2023 served as a platform to showcase the promising future of monitoring for corrosion using remote monitoring capabilities.
